Grooming
Shih Tzus have a beautiful coat that requires regular grooming every 4-6 weeks. I recommend you find a length that is easy to upkeep and fits your lifestyle so that your Shih Tzu doesn’t get matted. Matting can cause discomfort and eventually skin problems, as well as a negative experience for your puppy. Matts and knots in the hair can trap moisture against the skin which can lead to bacterial infections and permanent damage to the skin. Also Shih Tzus need to have their nails trimmed at the same time.
Regular combing with a metal comb is important and can be a great way to bond with your Shih Tzu to let them know you love them.
